Here are a few words from Florian’s journey home:

It was already waiting in the middle of the showroom to be packed and saddled up. This was followed by a test drive,
Coffee, nice conversations with the dudes from Veloheld, pedals, saddle and the rest of the travel setup.
Take-off weight: 13kg tourist + 15kg luggage + drinks.

Then it finally started: 17:30 start in Dresden towards Austria.
I rolled along the Elbe with Daniel for a while, then continued on my own. The next major goal was
Prague. To get to know the bike, I was recommended the Elbe cycle path. But as it will soon be dark
the first evening was around 35km and a campsite in Rathen.

The following days are only briefly described here:

Day 2 – Rathen until shortly before Prague
Further and further along the Elbe. Leisurely, upstream and with a headwind and the first
Czech beers then went as far as Kralupy nad Vltavou. After what felt like five
Seat position adjustments, 123km day section and 30km before Prague to the hotel.

Day 3 – Tour of Prague

Day 4 – (Prague) Zdar nad Sazavou – Brno
My father Erich decided to “join” the tour in Brno. After a late start in Dresden and
the day in Prague, I was under pressure to make it to Brno on time. So I spent 2 1⁄2
hours from Prague in the direction of Brno on the Czech slow train. The remaining 76km to the
Bohemian city then back on the bike.

Day 5 – Brno-Mistelbach
In the rain to Austria! The later the day, the more water in the shoes. Cozy in
Towards the border and even further. Finally 100km again.

Day 6 – Mistelbach-Riederberg
The day started with rain and ended with rain. In the meantime, it was briefly dry – in the Chinese restaurant. But friends on the Riederberg, near Vienna, have already given us a
expected.

Day 7 – Riederberg-Neunkirchen
After a quick look inside the gates of Schönbrunn Palace, we continued dry. Always in the
South. After 80km we landed in the middle of the Vienna Woods. What can I say? Sleeping on moss
soft.

Day 8 – Neunkirchen-Pernegg
Flatland behind us and the Semmering in front of us. After a giant doughnut, it’s off to Styria.
From here, follow the Mur downstream home. After just under 100km, we arrive at a “May Day celebration”
stopped at a bike station – and because it was fun there, the tent ended up on the meadow next to it.

Day 9 – Pernegg-Rein
The last morning was spent in familiar surroundings. Rolling 37km in the sunshine into the countryside.

Technical conclusion:

  • No defects – everything is still running smoothly after 660km
  • Felt like 13 seat position adjustments (saddle position/seat height/pedal clips) until everything felt good
    has
  • Protective film should be used under Ortlieb frame bags, as the coating is quite matt in some places.
    has become

Other conclusion:

  • Nice people and beautiful areas!
  • It can also be good if there are changes of plan!
  • I’m already looking forward to the next tour!
