Illusion Gambler trifft Pearlized White
Two colours of your choice in a single frame. We love it!
At the top of the head tube, there’s this vibrant green, which is really lovely, rich and deep. Towards the bottom and the dropouts, the colour gets lighter and lighter, until it eventually transitions into pearlescent white. Here, the pearlescent white has been used as a highlight, which is precisely what makes this bike a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
Why a gradient is truly handcrafted
A gradient cannot be easily applied in a single pass application. It is built up layer by layer, and every seam must be seamless, so that in the end the result is such a smooth transition is achieved. That’s why you need someone who has a good command of their craft.
With us every steel frame individually by means of the powder coating. That is why this is the kind of process we follow here not a ‘special request’ or anything like that. Your preferred colour or your entire colour scheme of your choice can be provided by us for each of our models can be implemented.
Which colours would you choose for?
But back to this veloheld.iconX: the finish is black. Understated, yet still appropriate, as this is the only way to give the frame colour the space it needs.
The cockpit came from the customer
Our customer already had the Redshift handlebars and some patterned Cinelli handlebar tape. The pattern on the handlebar tape makes this gravel bike truly one of a kind and blends in well with the overall look.
Twelve gears, no derailleur, no oil
The Pinion C1.12i gearbox with Smart.Shift is simply brilliant. You press a button, and the gearbox does the rest. Really smart! Whether you’re stationary at the traffic lights or just before the hill gets steeper than you thought. Twelve gears that you can cycle through without even having to think twice about whether it’ll work.
The drive’s weight is centred low down, exactly where it should be. And the Gates CDX belt drive requires absolutely no maintenance from you. No oil and no chain changes.
The tyres fitted were Schwalbe G-One R Pro 50-millimetre tyres, mounted on DT Swiss G540 rims with DT Swiss 370 hubs. Fifty millimetres on a gravel bike is really wide. Roots, loose gravel, rutted country lanes: no problem at all! You ride right over them and, as you go, realise how little you even notice the ground beneath you.
What do you think of the bike?
A gravel bike for long days off-road, with a steel frame that really catches the eye. Thanks to the customer for this colour choice. Bikes like this are the reason why we enjoy what we do so much.
What do you think of this colour gradient? We’re so excited to see where this bike will take us next.
