There are moments when you just know: now is the right time.
Even if it's raining. Even if your legs are already tired. Even if the next hill is still a long way off.

It's precisely in moments like these that Tom sits on his veloheld.iconX Titan and just keeps riding.
Because he knows that adventure doesn't begin at the destination. It begins when you set off.

Many passes, countless stories

His last big tour took him along his #7Col’s+ route—many epic Alpine passes, almost 1,200 kilometers, countless meters of elevation gain, and lots of emotions. (You can find the route here)

“Riding the Colle delle Finestre to the Strada Dell’Assietta…,” says Tom, “…that was wonderful. Memorable. Tear-jerking. I want to go back there right away.”

It’s these moments that stay with you. These sections where your body struggles, your mind doubts – and then suddenly your gaze lands on a panorama that makes you forget everything.

Surpass oneself

We asked Tom what he learned about himself during his travels.
His answer: stay calm.

“No matter how hard it gets: take a break, sleep, keep going. Get rid of negative thoughts, focus on the future. It will be difficult—but it’s never impossible.”

And he needed this attitude on his last tour:
His rear derailleur gave up the ghost on the road – right in the middle of the route, of all places. For many, that would have been the moment to throw in the towel. For Tom, it was just another challenge.

A little improvisation, a few frayed nerves, a call to his good friend Daniel, a new part organized—and off he went again.

And that’s exactly what makes Tom’s adventures so special: they’re not just athletic challenges.
They’re memories.
Moments that stay with you.
Proof that it’s worth setting off… and sticking with it.

Tom & his loyal partner

For Tom, his veloheld.iconX Titan is more than just a bike.
It is his travel buddy, his partner in crime, his reliable companion over gravel, passes, and trails. His light-footed friend.

With the SRAM AXS mullet groupset, Lightwolf wheels with carbon rims from Newman, SON hub dynamo for reliable light, and a clever setup of Reisefix and Tailfin bags, he is perfectly equipped—but for him, the bike is more than just technology and this setup.

“Sometimes it acts up a bit,” says Tom and laughs, “but I give it a light and loving tap on the rear, and then it runs smoothly again.”
A well-coordinated team.

Looking ahead

What does Tom take with him? Wanderlust.
But for him, his adventure doesn’t end at the finish line.
He already has big plans again.

His next big adventure is already set: in 2026, he’ll be back on the road, this time with a route that will be even bigger, longer, and more intense.
And he won’t be alone—our colleague Daniel will accompany him for part of the way.

And that’s exactly what we’ll be talking about on October 30, 2025, in our showroom:

Tom and Daniel will share their thoughts with you, talk about their previous trips, future plans, and the feeling of just hitting the road. It’ll be totally relaxed – almost like an evening on the couch with friends.
