With the new mechanical SHIMANO GRX 12-speed groupset, your most popular gravel drivetrain now also has twelve gears for an even smoother ride on all the gravel tracks in the world.
Now that the road groupsets have been given 12 gears, it’s finally time for the popular SHIMANO GRX gravel groupset to get that extra gear. Today is the day and SHIMANO presents the revised SHIMANO GRX 12-speed groupset.
With the 600 and 800 group, these will again be available in 2 quality levels. Of course, you have 1 or 2-speed cranks for both variants, so you can find the perfect combination for your area of use.
There are also a few very special new features in the 800 series that we really like: With the new shifters on the 1×12 groupset, you can also control a dropper post. Not that you necessarily need it, but the integration into the left brake lever, where the shift lever is located on the 2×12 groupset, is clever.
And if you realize after buying the 1×12 groupset with the 10-45 cassette that you need a lighter gear ratio, you can switch to the 10-51 tooth cassette by simply replacing the rear derailleur cage without having to buy a new rear derailleur – also very clever!
The new GRX 1x12 on the veloheld.iconX gravel bike
We fitted the new groupset to this veloheld.iconX in the special color “Mint Green” and went to the nearby heath with our mechanic Konstantin, dressed appropriately, to take a few quick photos for you.
The decals and some of the screws on the frame and fork are just as purple as the heather. The summery color for the frame and fork is called “Mint Green” and is quite sporty.
As already mentioned, the bike is equipped with the new SHIMANO GRX 1×12 groupset. The SHIMANO HOLLOWTECH II crank has 42 teeth and the Micro Spline cassette comes with 10-45 teeth. The new ST-RX820 levers on the handlebars are used for shifting and braking.
The unlabeled veloheld components fit perfectly with the labeled DT-Swiss wheelset, on which Schwalbe G-ONE tires in size 700×45 spin.
When can you order the groups from veloheld bikes?
A little more patience, the individual components are now arriving one after the other and we will soon add them to the configurator of the veloheld.iconX and the veloheld.iconX Titan for you.
You are also welcome to contact us by phone or e-mail and we will give you precise information on when we can build the first bikes for you.
