Spring is finally here again – perfect weather for riding in the forest or even discovering new trails. Chris did just that and took the new veloheld.iron MTB on a short tour to show you the bike in its natural environment.

The veloheld.iron is available from us as a frame (or set with steel fork) or individually as a complete bike. This allows you to install your desired components and adapt them to your preferred area of use. We designed it as a 29″ trail bike suitable for touring. This means that with its tire widths of up to 2.4 inches, it can also get a little rougher downhill, especially if a suspension fork with 120 mm travel is fitted at the front.

But you can also take it a little easier and build the frame together with the steel fork into a real MTB touring bike. The frame and fork have a few discreet eyelets for mounting pannier racks. The heat-treated frame tubes made of 4130 chromoly steel (comparable to a Reynolds 725 tube set) are the perfect basis for a robust yet lightweight touring bike that can also be ridden cross-country.

But you can also let it rip a little more. The frame and fork also have space for 27.5″+ wheels with tires up to 2.8 inches wide. Suspension forks with 120 – 140 mm travel can then also be installed. A dropper post (ø 30.9 mm) can also be fitted for more difficult terrain. We have just built such a bike and will be providing more information on this soon.

Many thanks to Tobias Ritz for the great photos.
