Melted Bronze, or: The colour that dances with the gold flakes
PPB-8034 Melted Bronze with gold flakes, glossy. In the morning, in the shade, it’s a cool, calm bronze-grey, and at midday in the sun it suddenly shimmers with a coppery sheen as the gold flakes start to do their job. This is what you get when you click on ‘Custom colour’ whilst configuring the bike. A powder coating that isn’t straight out of the catalogue.
And because a colour only really comes into its own when it’s used throughout, the steel fork is finished in the frame colour, as well as the 50 mm mudguards and, to match, the trim in black. The look is rounded off with the Schwalbe G-One Allround 40 mm in Bronze Skin. Nothing about this steel bike is left to chance, and we love it.
The centrepiece: veloheldin on the down tube
On most brands, there is on the down tube the brand name. With us it is there veloheld or alternatively very gladly veloheldin. For us it is a matter of course, because our bikes are ridden < a29> the most diverse people are ridden by and every and everyone of them is a female cycling hero or a male cycling hero is. And if we are honest: veloheldin on the down tube looks absolutely fantastic on this bike.
The setup: GRX 1x12, hub dynamo and luggage rack
Shimano GRX 610 in 1×12. One chainring at the front, twelve sprockets at the rear, and when you’re climbing a hill, you must not think about anything except the hill and the beautiful view that you might expect at the end mountain perhaps awaits.
Then the lights: DT Swiss G1800 wheels with Shutter Precision hub dynamo, at the front the SON Edelux II in black on the fork, at the rear a small black rear light with a red lens on the luggage rack. Small but efficient. Thanks to the hub dynamo, the lighting system simply always works reliably.
And as befits a veloheld.iconX Tourist, a luggage rack is fitted. The Tubus Vega Evo, the classic among luggage racks. After all, anyone who rides a veloheld.iconX Tourist plans both their weekly shop and their weekend ride on the same bike.
A gravel and touring bike made of steel for every day
A bike for the daily commute to work, for cycling adventures at the weekend and for an after-work ride, which doesn’t have to end when you come to a dirt track, because the steel frame is fun even on rough terrain. With lights, mudguards and a luggage rack, it’s fully equipped and ready for any weather.
We can’t wait to see what adventures this veloheld.iconX will go on.
