In the following article you can see that the veloheld.iconX can also be individually built into a great randonneur bike. The bike in the desired color far blue for frame, fork and mudguards and absolutely matching equipment is looking forward to many heroic kilometers.

The equipment

Not only the frame (size S) and fork of this veloheld.iconX bike of your choice are powder-coated in far blue (RAL 5023), but also the practical mudguards.

The bike’s drivetrain is the electronic Shimano GRX Di2 2×11, which enables smooth shifting in all types of terrain. The high-quality Ritchey WCS Venture Max components ensure contact between the rider and the bike. But the Brooks C15 Allweather saddle provides the seating comfort.

The wheels are made up of a combination of SON hub dynamo and DT-350 hubs as well as DT-Swiss G 540 rims, which promises stable and reliable performance. The René Herse Barlow Pass TC tires in 42mm width offer the best performance for the long haul.

The lighting on the veloheld bike is also first class: The SON Edellux headlight has a coax connection so that you can also connect a power bank, for example. Together with the SON rear light, both ensure excellent visibility, both for the rider and for other road users.

Electronic shifting here – Shimano GRX Di2 rear derailleur

Shimano GRX Di2 - electronic shifting

In order to always have the right gear reliably, the bike was fitted with electronic Shimano 2×11 GRX gears with 48/31 teeth on the crank and 11-34 teeth on the rear sprockets. From personal experience: a really precise and reliable gearshift that you don’t have to recharge too often.

What are your experiences with electronic drivetrains from Shimano or SRAM? Do you already have one or would you rather not? You almost can’t get past it any more…
