Classification

Bikes in Category 2 are designed for well-paved paths and ensure constant contact with the ground. These bikes are primarily intended for urban mobility, making them ideal for use in road traffic and on public or authorized paths. This category includes urban bikes, city bikes, trekking bikes, and gravel bikes. The maximum allowable total weight, consisting of the rider, luggage, and bicycle, should not exceed 120 kg. How will the bike be delivered to me?

The bike is delivered almost fully assembled and securely packed in a cardboard box by a forwarding agent within Germany. After delivery, you can assemble it ready to ride in a few simple steps and without special tools and go on your first ride straight away. You can find all information about the structure here.

Can I test ride the bike?

If you live near our showroom in Dresden or one of our dealers, you can test ride your dream bike on site. Please contact the dealer beforehand to clarify availability and dates.

Alternatively, you can also order the bike directly from us and test it at home after assembly. If, contrary to expectations, you don’t like it, we will collect it again within the return period. This does not apply to custom-built bikes.

What warranty do I get on the complete bike?

In addition to the statutory warranty, we grant you a voluntary warranty of 5 years on veloheld frames and forks – from the date of purchase. Please register your bike within 3 months of purchase to take advantage of this warranty. You can find all the details on our warranty page.

What is the permissible system weight?

The maximum permissible system weight – i.e. the total weight of the bike, rider and luggage – is

Can I fit a side stand?

Yes, the veloheld.path has a KSA18 mount on the left dropout. A suitable kickstand is already fitted for you with the complete bike.

Can I mount a child seat on the seat tube?

Unfortunately not. Due to the butted shape of the seat tube, there is a risk that the clamp of a child seat will damage the tube. In this case, we recommend alternative transport solutions such as trailers or luggage carrier systems.

What gearbox and drive system are installed?

The complete bike is equipped with a low-maintenance Shimano Alfine hub gear (optionally with 8 or 11 gears). There is also a durable Gates Carbon Drive belt drive. On request, we can also build the bike with Rohloff or as a single-speed version.

What tires and wheels are installed?

We install stable 27.5″ wheels with puncture-proof Schwalbe Hurricane tires in 50 mm width. This allows you to roll comfortably through the city, over cobblestones and also over gravel paths.

Is the bike available in my preferred color?

Yes, we offer individual powder coatings in your desired RAL color. The surcharge for a special color is € 200. Simply state your color preference when ordering or contact us directly.

How long will it take for my complete bike to be delivered?

The delivery time is usually 4 to 8 weeks after order confirmation – depending on the selected equipment, color, season and component availability.
