The steel frame in an elegant blue-gray
The colour is called RAL 7031 Blue-grey and has a gloss finish. A calm, cool shade somewhere between grey and blue, which looks really classy.
Combined with thesteel fork in frame colour and black trim. The 50 mm mudguards are matt black, creating a lovely contrast to the blue-grey and the glossy black components.
And the tyres are the Schwalbe G-One Allround in 40 mm with Bronze Skin. Wide enough for gravel, fast enough to get you there, and the warm brown sidewall adds just the touch of warmth that the cool blue-grey would otherwise lack.
Alfine Di2 and Gates
This gravel utility bike is powered by an Shimano Alfine Di2 11-speed system, combined with a Gates CDX belt. In other words, a in-hub gear system, which is electronically and a toothed belt instead of a chain. The belt runs quietly and cleanly and is virtually maintenance-free. The Alfine shifts smoothly and precise, whether it’s raining, on gravel, in heavy city traffic or whilst stationary at traffic lights. This is the sort of technology you won’t want to part with after two weeks, because it gets you through every situation with real reliability whilst remaining low-maintenance.
Light from Movement
At the front of the fork is a SON Edelux II in black, powered by a SON hub dynamo. At the rear, on the luggage rack, there is a black rear light with a red lens, ensuring optimum illumination. Thanks to the SON hub dynamo, there is no need for a battery that needs charging. And the permanently installed SON Edelux saves you the frantic search for the lamp when it suddenly gets dark.
Luggage at the front and rear
This veloheld.alleyX Tourist is fitted with a Tubus Vega Evo, and there’s also a Tubus Duo Lowrider> attached to the front fork. That’s right – plenty of space for luggage, and it’s rather well thought out, as it distributes the weight across both axles. On longer rides with luggage, this makes the bike feel noticeably smoother.
And yes, this bike is clearly designed not just for the daily commute to work, but to set off on a proper long-distance ride at some point and experience great adventures. We love that!
Handlebars and saddle
The cockpit consists of a Ritchey WCS Butano, 400 mm with a 70 mm stem and our own handlebar tape. The Butano has plenty of flare, so its ends are curved outwards, which provides greater control on rough and long trails.
And for the saddle, a Brooks C15 Carved, the classic par excellence, this time in the version with a recess in the middle. It’s a perfect match for a bike designed for long days in the saddle.
Your companion for everyday life, travel, and adventure
Alfine Di2, Gates belt, hub dynamo, mudguards, two luggage racks and a Brooks saddle. All in all, this makes for a bike that takes you to work in the morning, rolls smoothly through the rain and disappears with you and your luggage towards the horizon.
